Who we are

This policy describes how Opcurri ( opcurri.com) handles personal data when you use the Service. For product privacy questions, email support@opcurri.com.

Paid checkouts are processed by Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record. Paddle is an independent controller of the payment data it collects. See Paddle's Privacy Notice.

What we collect

  • Account: name, email, role (teacher, student or admin), optional avatar, language preferences and UI settings.
  • Teaching data: courses, exercises, classrooms, homework, grades, vocabulary, messages and lesson notes you or your students create.
  • Usage: login times, plan and subscription status we receive from Paddle, and basic diagnostic logs needed to run the Service.
  • Integrations you connect: for example Google Calendar or Zoom tokens, stored so those features can work.
  • Demo and support mail: name, email and the message you send to us.

We do not receive or store card numbers. Paddle collects payment details on its checkout.

How we use it

We use personal data to:

  • create and authenticate your account;
  • provide courses, classrooms, homework and messaging;
  • apply the correct plan limits after a Paddle subscription event;
  • send transactional email (invites, password reset, homework notices you have enabled);
  • secure the Service and diagnose faults;
  • comply with law.

We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising. Lawful bases under the GDPR are: performing the contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, product improvement that does not override your rights), consent where we ask for it, and legal obligation.

Payments (Paddle.com)

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

When you start checkout we pass Paddle the information it needs to take payment (typically your email and a reference to your Opcurri account). Paddle may collect billing name, address, tax identifiers and payment method. Paddle sends us subscription status (plan, renewal date, past-due or cancelled) so we can provision access. Refunds and invoices are handled by Paddle — see the Refund Policy.

Who can see your data

  • A teacher can see their students' names, emails, vocabulary and answers in classrooms they manage.
  • Students see their own data and content their teacher has shared with them. Classmates may see names in a shared classroom.
  • School admins see members of their school according to the roles they assign.
  • We use processors to run the Service, including Supabase (database and auth), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), and Paddle.com (payments). Google and Zoom only receive data if you connect those integrations.

We do not grant processors a right to use your teaching content for their own products.

Cookies

We use a session cookie from Supabase Auth to keep you logged in, plus preferences stored in your browser (theme, language). Paddle checkout sets its own cookies when you pay. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your account in Settings → Delete account. We then remove your profile and associated teaching data from our database, generally within 30 days, except records we must keep (for example a billing event already stored for accounting, or data Paddle retains as Merchant of Record).

Your rights

If the GDPR or similar law applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or to object to certain processing, and you may withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@opcurri.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. For payment data held by Paddle, contact Paddle via paddle.net or their privacy notice.

International transfers

We and our processors may process data in the EU, UK, US or other countries with appropriate safeguards (for example standard contractual clauses) where required.

Children

Student accounts can be created by teachers for learners of any age. Teachers and schools are responsible for obtaining parental or guardian consent where their law requires it. The Service is not directed at children buying subscriptions themselves; only a teacher or school can purchase a plan.

Changes

We will post material changes on this page and update the date above. If we change how payments are handled we will also update the Terms and Refund Policy and notify Paddle.
